Kathryn Emiko Hintersteininger-Lee

A native of Burnaby, Mrs. Kathryn Emiko Hintersteininger-Lee is a Vancouver-based violinist, performer, and pedagogue. She is known for her innate approach to playing the violin and teaching music. Kathryn believes that music should be taught with mind, body, heart and soul working together. Kathryn holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music (Violin Performance) from UVIC, a Master’s Degree in Music (Violin Performance) from DePaul University in Chicago, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from UBC. As a performer, Kathryn performs newly composed music with Vancouver’s new music ensemble Ethos Collective. As an educator, Kathryn teaches Elementary Music to Kindergarten to Grade 6 students at Sperling Elementary in Burnaby. She was the founder of the Burnaby District String Orchestra in 2013 / 14, and founded Rain City String Orchestra in 2014.
