RCM History: Music History I

Instructor: Ruth Enns
Recommended for: Ages 12+
Class Times: May 31 - June 28, Tuesdays, 4:00-5:30pm & July 2 – August 2, Tuesdays and Fridays, 1:00-3:00pm
Per Lesson Fee: $25.72 per class
Class Description: A greater exploration of the Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque and Classical style periods with an emphasis on the development of different musical genres.

RCM History: Music History II

Recommended for: Ages 12+ (must have completed Music History I)
Class Times: May 31 - June 28, Tuesdays, 5:30-7:00pm & July 2 – August 2, Tuesdays and Fridays, 3:00-5:00pm
Per Lesson Fee: $25.72 per class

Class Times: May 31 - June 28, Tuesdays, 7:00-8:30pm & July 2 – August 2, Tuesdays and Fridays, 5:00-7:00pm
Per Lesson Fee: $25.72 per class
Class Description: Students will investigate the music of the 19th and 20th centuries including Canadian music. Topics include popular music and jazz in addition to traditional Western music.

RCM Teacher’s Elementary Pedagogy: Written

Instructor: Rebecca Kelly
Recommended for: Students interested in ARCT and above (no prerequisites required)
Class Times: June 25-July 30, Saturdays, 3:00-5:00pm (6 classes)
Per Lesson Fee: $77.50 per class
Class Description: Students will learn about issues related to teaching beginning students with an emphasis on topics that lend to written discussion.

RCM Teacher’s Elementary Pedagogy: Viva Voce

Instructor: Rebecca Kelly
Recommended for: Completed Teacher’s Elementary Pedagogy and Grade 9 RCM Piano
Class Times: June 25-July 30, Saturdays, 1:00-3:00pm (6 classes)
Per Lesson Fee: $77.50 per class
Class Description: Students will learn to address pedagogical issues through interactive discussion and practical demonstration.
