Leanna is a professional bassist and has been a freelance musician active in the music scene of Vancouver. She has performed and recorded with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, the Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra and Chor Leoni.
Leanna obtained her music degrees from the University of British Columbia, Juilliard and the University of Southern California. Her instructors include Ken Friedman, Orin O’Brien and Nico Abondolo.
In 1999, she was a member of the New York String Seminar as well as a participant in Music Academy of the West, Santa Barbara. Leanna has also been a fellow at the Tanglewood Music Center and has participated in Gary Karr’s “Karr Kamp” in Victoria, BC.
Teaching since 2005, Leanna offers high-quality music education in personalized programs to suit students of all ages. She believes musical education is important because it brings enjoyment, promotes positive change, social well-being and intellectual development. Most importantly, music allows for greater possibilities and expansion by a better understanding of ourselves through self-expression.
