VAM continues to proceed with its gradual restart, with phase 2 scheduled for October 19 and phase 3 for November 16. Enhanced cleaning protocols and contact tracing will continue as we slowly open our doors to more in-person programming.
Face masks are required while on site at VAM as of October 19. Click here to read VAM’s face mask policy.
As our province slowly re-opens, the Vancouver Academy of Music is issuing our own Restart Plan, with Phase 1 to begin in September 2020. The health and safety of the VAM community remains our chief priority.
Please see the Restart Plan document for further information and details.
Vancouver Academy of Music remains committed to keeping the community together in this time of difficulty experienced around the globe. Though our facilities are temporarily closed, we are currently working to ensure that we can continue spreading a love of music by continuing as many educational programs as possible through remote instruction. Our staff and faculty are working to transition to online delivery of lessons and select group classes, opening channels of musical enrichment in new ways of interaction.
VAM continues to monitor the ever-evolving situation closely and follow the advice of the public health authorities. We sincerely thank you for your patience and understanding as we all come together as a community and navigate these unusual times.
Due to the recent developments of the COVID-19 outbreak, Vancouver Academy of Music will be closed effective March 18 until further notice. All in-person instruction is suspended; online private lessons are available at the discretion of the teacher and student. During the course of the closure, administrative staff will be available via email correspondence (click here for staff directory).
We wish good health to all as we implement these measures for the safety of our students, families, faculty, staff, and general public. Updated information will continue to be available on VAM’s website.
