Adele Marsland

Adele Marsland is an arts administrator and musician with a passion for music as a means of storytelling. She studied flute, organ, piano and voice before pursuing a Bachelor of Music at Mount Allison University. In the summer of 2023 she completed a Master of Arts in Musicology at the University of British Columbia, with a research focus on Early Modern England that combines music, theatre history, and gender studies to examine the role of seventeenth-century singer-actresses. She has presented on Medieval and Renaissance music and women’s music-making to students at the University of British Columbia as a Teaching Assistant, and more recently gave a talk on Music & Gender in Jane Austen’s World to the Vancouver Chapter of the Jane Austen Society of North America.

Adele currently works at Early Music Vancouver as their Marketing & Communications Coordinator. In her free time she enjoys choral singing, amateur photography, and perusing obscure medieval manuscripts.
