Who is eligible: Performance Exam 2025 Gold Medal Winners

The Vancouver Academy of Music Gold Medal Competition is designed to identify young talented students who won gold medals in Performance Exam 2025, and afford them recognition and financial assistance. $3,000 total in scholarships will be awarded for 2025/26 VAM tuition.

Prizes
Junior Category: Diamond Award and $750 scholarship for the 2025/2026 tuition
Intermediate Category: Diamond Award and $1000 scholarship for the 2025/2026 tuition
Senior and Advanced Senior Category: Diamond Award and $1250 scholarship for the 2025/2026 tuition
Repertoire
-Junior and Intermediate Categories: one of 2025 Performance Exam selections up to 5 minutes, with accompaniment
-Senior & Advanced Senior Category: one of 2025 Performance Exam selections up to 8 minutes, with accompaniment
-Participants may change their repertoire for the Gold Medal Competition from their Performance Exam selections, subject to approval from their teacher. Please ensure that the repertoire approval is submitted via email to the Programs Coordinator, Niki Hung, at [email protected].
Competition Rules
-No audio or video recording is permitted.
-Three copies of the music must be submitted to the adjudicators (photocopies permitted).
-All applicants are responsible for arranging a pianist.
-The competition phase will be open to the public.
-The adjudicators retain the right to withhold any prize if, in their opinion, it is not merited. All decisions made by the adjudicators are final and without appeal.
-By submitting an application, students and their parent/guardian understand that any recording resulting from the competition may be used for VAM promotional purposes.
