VAM is pleased to offer scholarship support student achievements in RCM written/online exams for theory, history, and pedagogy. Use the link at the bottom of this page to apply and, if you are found eligible, a scholarship will be added to your VAM account. You are eligible for a scholarship if you enrolled in VAM private lessons or a VAM group class to prepare for your exam and achieved a mark of 70% or higher. Scholarships may be used exclusively for VAM tuition.
The current application intake is for:
- In-person exams written during the Spring 2026 session
- Online exams written between Jan 1 – May 31, 2026
- Deadline of July 15; scholarships applied to Fall 2026 tuition
What you will need for your application:
Applications must be completed by either the student or their parent/guardian. You will need to prepare a screenshot that captures all of the following information in one image from your RCM online account:
1) Student name
2) Exam subject and level
3) The date that the exam was written (month and year)
4) The exam’s official mark

Scholarship amounts
The scholarship amount will be determined by the student’s official mark:
Levels 5-8 Theory, online exams
70-79: $50 | 80-89: $100 | 90-100: $150
Levels 5-8 Theory, in-person exams
70-79: $100 | 80-89: $150 | 90-100: $200
Levels 9-ARCT History; all levels of Piano Pedagogy
70-79: $150 | 80-89: $200 | 90-100: $250
Levels 9-ARCT Harmony/Counterpoint & Analysis
70-79: $200 | 80-89: $300 | 90-100: $400
