Manuela began studying piano at the age of 5. She completed her ARCT Piano Performance Diploma with First Class Honours. She then went on to complete her Bachelor of Music degree at the University of British Columbia, graduating with High Distinction under the tutelage of Amanda Chan. During her studies at UBC, she was granted various scholarships to support her pursuit of higher education, including the Grant F Hurst Memorial Scholarship in Music, Mildred Johnson Scholarship in Music, and Karen Bomstead Memorial Scholarship in Piano. Her passion and dedication to teaching has led Manuela to become an RCM Certified Teacher with an Elementary Specialist designation.
As an educator, Manuela wishes to share with students a rich and fulfilling musical journey, just as she had experienced with her teachers. She strives to provide a well balanced musical education, enforcing healthy piano technique, artistry, theory, ear training, and sight reading. Her goal is to equip her students with the technical and interpretative skills, knowledge, and musicality to play confidently and independently. Manuela aims to provide a positive environment to nurture a sense of self confidence and achievement in her students.
