Lisa Amini

Lisa received her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and Certificate of Liberal Arts from Simon Fraser University. She went on to complete her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the University of British Columbia, Faculty of Law where she also served as an Associate Editor of the UBC Law Review. Lisa spent 10 years working as a multi-jurisdictional corporate, business and real estate attorney in the United States. She returned back to Vancouver and developed the Brain Boosters program after being inspired by her own daughter’s developmental challenges. In 2011, Lisa joined the Vancouver Academy of Music as a faculty member to teach Brain Boosters, Brain Boosters Math, Language Arts and all enrichment programs. Lisa is a certified elementary teacher with an interest in brain development/neuroplasticity research, educational pedagogy and curriculum development. She received special training in teaching elementary literacy/language arts programs (i.e. reading comprehension, writing) and mathematics as well as in social-emotional learning (SEL), self-regulation and ICT in education. Lisa’s students have received numerous math competition awards nationally and internationally.
