Irene Senent began her violin studies at the age of eight and holds a bachelor’s degree in Violin
Performance from the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Aragón (Spain).
Her performance career has taken her across Spain, touring with ensembles such as the Film
Symphony Orchestra and Ara Malikian y la Orquesta en el Tejado, and performing in some of
the country’s most prestigious venues. She has also had the privilege of accompanying
internationally acclaimed artists such as Krystian Zimerman and Leticia Moreno.
In addition to her work as a performer, Irene is deeply passionate about music education. She is
a Certified Suzuki Violin Teacher, having completed her training through the British Suzuki
Institute in London (UK) and the Seattle Suzuki Institute (USA). She is currently pursuing a
master’s degree in music education at the International University of La Rioja. With over 17
years of teaching experience, she has guided many students to achieve outstanding results in
RCM examinations, and several have gone on to become members of youth orchestras such as
the VYSO.
As a performer in Canada, Irene has worked as an extra musician with both the Vancouver
Island Symphony and the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (VSO). She is also an advocate for
cultural diversity in music, having participated in the gamelan ensemble Gamelan Bike Bike.
Moreover, she is a member of the Tamarisk String Quartet and co-founder of Fetele.din.balkani,
a trio dedicated to sharing Balkan musical traditions.
