Stella Zhu

Stella is a member of the Chinese Harp Association with a National Level-3 Performer certification. She is also affiliated with the Vancouver West Coast Harp Society. Her professional development includes participating in the 2012 Third Chinese Harp Art Festival, attending a masterclass by Japanese harpist Yamazaky, and a forum lecture “On Jazz Harp” by Jakez, CEO of Camaca Harps, France. In 2015, she hosted the “47 Strings” personal harp concert and conducted nearly five masterclasses.

Stella has received multiple awards for her success in teaching, including recognition at the 2020 China Harp Competition, the 2021 and 2022 China-Korea International Music Competitions, and the 2022 and 2023 “Caiyu Cup” Cross-Strait Harp Competitions. She also participated in a masterclass by Canadian harpist Valérie Milot in 2022 and was honored at the 2023 Infinity International Music Competition in Vancouver, Canada.

In 2013, Stella joined the Central Opera House as a second harpist, performing at the National Grand Theater in the opera “Thaïs” with soprano Domingo. From 2014 to 2023, she was the principal harpist at the Liaoning Opera House and Symphony Orchestra, collaborating with prominent musicians and organizing the acclaimed “Harp and Friends” concert.

In 2015, Stella founded the “Harp Studio,” guiding students through various performances and competitions. In 2019, she organized the “Mukden Night” teacher-student concert, featuring nine harps. In 2020, she established her personal harp studio, “Hi Harp,” continuing to foster a passion for music among her students.

Stella’s philosophy: “I have always advocated for learning with interest, which builds enthusiasm over time, just like my approach to life. Each day, I strive to live vibrantly and aim to share this passion with my students and those around me. Life is to live beautifully and walk sonorously.
