60 Minute Cello Lesson with Joseph Elworthy

Lessons are offered Monday through Sunday. Lesson times are to be arranged with the teacher.

Master Classes will be conducted by Head of the Cello Department, Joseph Elworthy, a graduate of the Juilliard School of Music and Yale University School of Music where he studied with Aldo Parisot. Upon graduation from Yale, he was awarded the “Aldo Parisot Prize” to a cellist who shows most promise for an international career.

Mr. Elworthy has participated in Banff, Ravinia, and Sarasota summer festivals, studying with such legendary teachers as Bernard Greenhouse and Janos Starker as well as with prolific contemporary cellists, such as Gary Hoffman, Steven Isserlis, and Yo-Yo Ma. He has been a soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician throughout Canada, the U.S., Japan, Korea, Ireland, and the U.K. Mr. Elworthy has been a faculty member of the Long Island School of the Arts, the Closter Conservatory, and was a teaching assistant for Aldo Parisot while at Yale and Juilliard. Mr. Elworthy is a member of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.
