Cello Workshop

Class Description: The cello workshop series, led by a rotating team of VAM’s esteemed cello faculty, offers an enriching and collaborative learning environment for aspiring young cellists. Designed for intermediate (RCM level 4-7) to advanced students (RCM level 8+), each session includes a technique class, a mini masterclass, and a joint cello ensemble session. This program provides a well-rounded, inspiring experience to support continued growth and artistry on the cello. Schedule: Sundays, 2:00-4:00pm (subject to change)

VAM Childrens Harp Ensemble

Class Description: Join VAM’s Harp Ensemble for children to explore from classical to popular music and build a strong foundation for playing harmoniously in an ensemble. Our annual optional audition offers students a chance to be featured as a soloist. In addition, the Junior ensemble will explore different harp techniques and learn the art of conducting; the Senior ensemble will focus further on teamwork, active listening and improvisation. The acclaimed ensembles perform regularly in celebrated events such as VAM Harp Fest, Vancouver Harp Day, and the Kiwanis Festival.

Adult Chamber Music: Play with the Pros

Class Description: A unique ensemble experience, each chamber group in Play with the Pros will consist of one member of VAM's faculty, where you can enjoy the benefits of mentorship and collegiality that come from performing with a professional musician. Chamber Music

Recommended for: Ages 10+; Suzuki 4+/RCM 6+
Class Description: VAM's chamber music program is the perfect opportunity for young musicians to experience the communal nature of making music, developing the essential skills of communication and collaboration. Class time to be scheduled at the mutual convenience of students and teacher. Students wishing to register for fewer than 16 classes per semester must have permission from the teacher.
