VAM’s Music with Friends is a place where children ages 3-5 can explore the joys of creativity, collaboration, fun, and imagination as they embark on the journey of learning a new instrument. These classes are designed for the young child eager for their first experience with an instrument in a pressure-free environment and will equip them with the tools to succeed in future musical studies, personal growth, and social development.

Learn the fundamentals of music reading and ear training
Establish strong essentials of holding the instrument, posture, and movement
Build a foundation for private lessons and ensemble performance

Harp Hamsters

Class Description: This class is sure to turn the wheel of inspiration in young ones eager to start a new adventure! Our cheeky friends glide into the basics of the harp, developing musical and social skills in an engaging group setting and equipping your child for success both in and out of the classroom. This is a full year class from September-December (14 weeks) then January-May (16 weeks) Parent participation required. Students are required to bring their own lap harps to the class. For more information on harp rental, please contact the VAM office.

Piano Pups

Class Description: Find a loyal companion in the piano as your child builds a love of music for years to come. Always ready to play, Piano Pups will introduce your child to keyboard geography and technique with fun and interactive repertoire. This is a full year class from September-December (14 weeks) then January-May (16 weeks) Due to popular demand, there is a half-year January 2025 intake available. This half-year class will be taught by Janna Berg. Parent participation required.

Violin Duckies

Viola Bunnies

The alto voice of the string family is a beloved choice for our long-eared bunny buddies, who will be your child’s guide as they develop technical skills and play their first repertoire. Flute Kittens
