The Young Composers’ Competition is a new competition this year, and gives aspiring composers a chance to explore the art of composition further and a chance to hear their own work being performed by the VAM Symphony Orchestra.

The VAMSO Provincial Concert Competition is new as well, and invites students from all over BC to compete for a chance to perform a movement of a concerto of their choice with the VAM Symphony Orchestra live on the Orpheum Theatre stage. This competition is open to students playing any instrument (voice included) who resides in BC.

Our Senior Secondary Competition is back with a focus on Strings. Open to all secondary school students in BC, the Bjorn & Lori Hareid Annual Senior Secondary Competition is designed to recognize young and talented musicians and support their future endeavours.
