Semester Fee:Class Description: VAM's Online Accelerated Harmony and Analysis courses offer the fast track to success in RCM examinations. Students will develop knowledge of music theory and history in an intensive accelerated environment.
The courses consist of twelve 30-minute or twelve 60-minute private lessons arranged at the mutual convenience of the teacher and student.
Fee: $492/$984.
RCM must be registered separately.
Entrance Test Required for HARMONY Courses.

Class Description: In this introductory course, students will build a foundation for music theory, literacy, and understanding by exploring everything in the world of music from composers around the globe to the fine detail of the notes, rhythms and instruments that make up our musical landscape.

Semester Fee:Class Description: Prepare for test-taking success with VAM's Department Head of RCM Exam Preparation, Shirley Lum. Comprising 12 private lessons scheduled at your convenience, this package will cover essential theory and history topics and exam preparation techniques for intermediate and advanced RCM theory and history examinations.
The levels covered in this program are from Grade 9 to ARCT Harmony and ARCT Analysis.
Lessons may be in-person or online, depending on a mutual agreeable time between teacher and student.

Class Time: Saturdays, 1:15-2:00pm Saturdays, 1:15-2:00pm (January intake)
Semester Fee:Class Description: Designed for adults with continued interested in developing a strong foundation of musicianship, Adult Theory & Ear Training further introducing students to the fundamental skills of music theory, ear training, and appreciation.
This class runs for 13 weeks. There is a September and January intake for this class.
Recommended for: Ages 6-8
Class Description: The perfect companion to practical music studies, Beginner Theory Level 2 introduces students to elements of notation, rhythm, scales, and intervals in small class sizes with a maximum of four.
This is a semi-private course that defaults to online delivery.

VAM shares a close institutional relationship with the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) that includes our official designation as Vancouver West exam centre.
