Some VAM students were recipients of top prizes at the Friends of Chamber Music Competition on Sunday, March 4th. Audience Prize (Juniors) went to Aliayta Foon Dancoes (violin), Kathy Chen (violin), Calvin Yang (viola), and Emily Ahn (cello).
Johanna Qvamme (violin), Esther Hwang (violin), Calvin Yang (viola), On You Lee (viola), Luke Kim (cello) and Adam McKenzie (cello) took the Senior Division prize.
Congratulations to all participants of the Suzuki Achievement Levels Concert on Saturday! A very special thank you to Raymund Echaus, who presented a scholarship in his sister’s name. The Marguerite M. Echaus Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Amber Tsang, pictured here with Joseph Elworthy, Juan Wang, Teresa Ho, and Raymund Echaus.

VAM would like to congratulate one our students from the Ballet Studio, Felicia Wu, as she has been accepted to summer schools at both Alberta Ballet and Boston Ballet. She has also been invited to take part in Vancouver Ballet Society’s Spring Seminar where she will be studying with Roberto Campanella and Dominic Walsh. She is one of three VAM ballet students who will be performing variantions from Les Sylphides in the May 6th VAM Showcase at the Orpheum Theatre.
