Class Description: Free Admission: Showcasing the highest level of education that VAM offers, the College Program Concert Series spotlights the post-secondary students of VAM's Music Performance Diploma and Artist Diploma programs.

2022 VAM Kay Meek Competition

Class Description: The Vancouver Academy of Music Kay Meek Competition is designed to identify young talented students and afford them recognition and financial assistance. Six students will be awarded scholarships, with the First Prize winner appearing as soloist with the VAM Symphony Orchestra.

Edith and Esmond Lando Gifted Youth Competition Winner’s Recital

Class Description: Free Admission Named after two outstanding arts advocates and humanitarians, the Edith & Esmond Lando Gifted Youth Competition opens doors for the next generation. Eight talented students aged 14 and under are selected from the preliminary round to receive tuition scholarships and perform in this winner's concert to commemorate Edith & Esmond Lando's dedication to providing opportunities for youths.

Class Description: Tickets $35 general, $20 student/senior Immerse yourself in "Paris in Spring," a concert that captures the essence of Parisian charm and sophistication. Experience an enchanting afternoon with VAM's distinguished faculty, as they bring to life the delicate balance of light and shadow, passion and tranquility, through the works of Debussy, Fauré, and Ravel. Let the melodies transport you to the heart of Paris, where every note paints a picture of blossoming love and the vibrant spirit of spring. Program:

Songs of the Wasteland

Class Description: $10 general, $5 students/seniors available at vam.ca/events This musical drama is the journey of Renia Perel – a story of tragedy, survival, hope, and healing. Echoing fragments of Jewish tradition and culture in 20^th-century Europe, Songs of the Wasteland is dedicated to Holocaust Remembrance and honouring those who risked their welfare for the Jewish people.

Class Description: Join the Music With Friends program in their Musical Storytelling Series and go on an adventure involving the story of "Despicable Me"! Dive into the fun and silly antics of the Minions with VAM faculty members Chloe Hurst (narrator), Jonathan Na (violin), Luci Barz (viola), Trisha Doo (cello), Thomas Law (flute), Teresa Bowes (piano), Carrie To (bassoon), and Miya Otake (harp). Bring along your imagination, family, and friends for an afternoon of delight and excitement! Suitable for families with children aged 3 and above.

YACP Fall Recital

Class Description: Free Admission VAM's Young Artist Collegiate Program (YACP) gives musically exceptional high school students a head start into college-level studies through intensive development of academic and performance skills. As they take to the stage and perform, come for an evening concert to celebrate the talents and gifts of these young, budding musicians.
